Batam Nightlife - where to go after dark
Nightclubs
Nightclubs or discotheques here usually play alternate between techno music and some up-to-date pop. Some places also have live bands, playing English, Indonesian, Chinese, and Singaporean songs.
Nagoya is the nightlife entertainment district in Batam. Getting around is easy as most pubs are located behind Harmoni Hotel, Panaroma Regency & Goodway Hotel.
An added bonus for being a duty zone, you can get Heineken and other imported beers for nearly the same price as Bintang. And although you might find the nightlife scene in Batam different from what you are used to back home, it is worth experiencing.
Karaoke
There are literally hundreds of karaoke bars located in almost every direction of Nagoya. It is very popular with Chinese and Singaporean, so most of the songs are in Chinese with some well-known English and Indonesian songs.
Beside a large karaoke hall, many of them also provide private rooms for a group of three-to-eight people or more. Contact Batam Holidays if you need to book a private room along with land transfer.
Pubs
Batam has several Irish pubs located nearby at the Melia Panorama, Goodway and Harmoni hotels. Many of these pubs has a large flat screen broadcasting sports while others go for live music.
If you like to explore for a good outing - There are approx 5 Pubs cum Karaoke cum restaurant located at the Harbour Bay Walk which has the combination of all 3 - Food, drink & Karaoke!
You may like to have Seafood by the waters, beer to soak in the evening atmostphere and move into the Pub for karaoke session all in the same place!
Discos
Pacific, Planet, Spinx, Ozon
Batam has several large discos. All are very dark, loud and smoky. The Pacific is the biggest and has the best sound system. All get busy around midnight.
Raunchy Bars
Try the Jungle and Ice Pub. The PP Banana is the wildest and most fun - opens from 2pm on Fridays, Saturdays & Sundays from 6.30pm midweek.
No strict dress-code although flip-flops are not allowed for clubbers’ own safety.
Batam Nightlife can be divided up into 2 areas with a variety of Pubs and Bars in each area. The 2 areas are: Nagoya City Area & Waterfront City Area.
Pleasant Evening Drinks
Hotels too have their own bars and disco’s or KTV lounge, so you don’t have to go far to have a good time! Try the Planet Hotel’s rooftop bar (22nd floor) for a nice view of Nagoya and the Singapore Straits.
There are pleasant WINE BARS at Goodway and Harmoni hotels . Try a Cheese Platter at the Goodway’s Hotel Wine Bar for Rp45,000.
If wine and high spirits are not for you, go for all-night bowling at one of the bowling alleys at Lucky Plaza.
After a hectic night of activities, head down for supper at any of the coffee houses operating 24hrs in the city. The stalls scattered throughout the island and served Teochew porridge, caramel bean curd or just coffee and cakes are just some of the satisfying ways to greet the dawn which are to be found on this holiday island.
